In 2006, Indra Nooyi became PepsiCo’s first female CEO and has an approximate net worth of $144 million. As a student she worked in the graveyard shift as a dorm receptionist so she could earn an extra 50 cents to make ends meet.
How did she go from student of modest means to Pepsi’s first female CEO? Nooyi said she’s always pushed back against adversity. A proud mum of 2 daughters, she’s instilled in them the belief that they could become whoever they wanted. Mrs Nooyi’s confidence is built upon an unusual daily habit her mother made her and her sister practise when they were 8 to 11 years old. “Every night at the dinner table, my mother would ask us to write a speech about what we would do if we were president, chief minister, or prime minister. At the end of dinner, we had to give the speech, and she had to decide who she was going to vote for.”
There are endless activities which we can do with our girls to sharpen their minds and other skills. These activities usually cost literally nothing but it looks like they pay off in the end! MOCCA Mums what are some of your favourite mum and daughter activities?
